Movement is Medicine: Free Parkinson’s Training
We are pleased to share a new free, accredited training opportunity that may be of interest to people working across Parkinson's and physical activity programmes.
Movement is Medicine for Parkinson's, has been awarded short course accreditation. Developed by John Molyneux FFHT, the online course is designed to support and upskill exercise and movement instructors. The course is now available at no cost via the MolyFit website.
About the course
Movement is Medicine for Parkinson's aims to increase instructor confidence and competence when working with people living with Parkinson's. The training provides practical guidance on delivering safe, effective, and inclusive movement and exercise sessions, helping to reduce barriers to participation.
The key objective of the course is to encourage more instructors to feel confident supporting people with Parkinson's, thereby increasing the availability of appropriate physical activity opportunities within communities.
Why this is important
Exercise is increasingly recognised as a key part of maintaining independence, strength, and quality of life for people with Parkinson's. However, many instructors feel unsure or under‑confident about working with this community. This free, accredited course helps address that challenge by offering accessible learning for instructors across the sector.
